Exterior Shots for Point & Peak

  1. Bring dish to mast
    1. Installer walks from the gate to the mounted mast on the wall
    2. Installer climbs ladder and places the dish on the mast
  2. Check elevation against work order

    1. Installer takes one coiled test cable and attaches to the "From TRIA" port on the APA
    2. Installer takes one coiled test cable and attaches to the "To Modem" port on the APA, and then to the LNB port on the SSLM
    3. Show how the installer sets this to the side
  7. Attach TX to TRIA, then ground block, then TX on modem
    1. Installer takes one green cable and attaches to the TX on the TRIA
    2. Installer attaches this green cable to ground block
    3. Installer attaches the second green cable, and attaches to the ground block
  8. Attach RX to TRIA, then ground block, then modem
    1. Installer takes one red cable and attaches to the RX on the TRIA
    2. Installer attaches this red cable to the ground block
    3. Installer attaches the second red cable to ground block

  9. Add tools to TRIA
    1. Remove RX cable from TRIA and attach test cable from APA
    2. Installer removes the red-labeled RX cable from TRIA
    3. Installer picks up the tool set
    4. Installer connect the "From TRIA" test cable (which is also connected to the APA) to the RX port on the TRIA
    5. Installer connects the red-labeled RX cable to the Sat RX port on the SSLM
  10. Add tools to modem
    1. Attenuators
      1. Show the 20 dB attenuator
      2. Show the 10 dB attenuator, then the Installer attaches the 10 dB to the 20 dB
    2. Installer attaches to Modem - Need this shot
      1. Installer connects 20dB to the RX port on the modem
      2. Attach a red-labeled cable to the attenuators
      3. Attach a green-labeled cable to TX port on the back of the modem
      4. Installer plugs in modem
  11. Set Inclinometer and lay on Boom Arm (Point Elevation)

  12. Loosen Elevator bolts & nuts

  13. Move lower Elev. nut until Inclinometer aligns correctly
    1. Show the 1/2" open wrench sweeping on the lower elev. nut
    2. Show the Inclinometer moving to the setting
  14. Tighten Elev. nuts & bolts
    1. Installer hand-tightens the upper elev. nut
    2. Installer uses the 1/2" tool of his choice to tighten bolts on the elevation slots
  15. Find the satellite in the sky (Point Azimuth)
    1. Installer sets the SSLM gain to 60

    3. [During post-production, insert slide that shows the relative position of the 3 sats in the sky]
    4. From front, show Installer swinging dish 10 degrees away from Sat, then brining it back
    5. Show SSLM during that action (SSLM rises, then drops, then comes back to top. Stop at top.)
  16. Tighten mast bolts
    1. Installer uses the 1/2" tool of his choice to tighten bolts on the mast from the top to bottom.
  17. Set the Cam (Peak Azimuth)
    1. Installer sets the SSLM gain to 60
    2. Show from below, Installer uses the 1/2" ratchet to loosen the AZ base
    3. [During post-production, insert slide that warns about turning the Cam correctly]
    4. Show from below, turn the Cam in a clockwise manner at least two full rotations
    5. Show the SSLM during that action (SSLM rises, then drops, then comes back to top. Stop at top.)
  18. Tighten the AZ base bolts
    1. Show from below, Installer uses the 1/2" ratchet to tighten the AZ base bolts
  19. Sweep and Count (Peak Elevation)
    1. Installer sets the SSLM gain to 60
    2. [Post-production: Duplicate file 12.2_19.2_LoosenElevPointElev.MTS, and edit to stop after loosening top nut on elevation rod]
    3. Show the Installer using the 1/2" tool of his choice to loosen the elevation nuts on the arched slots
    4. Show the Installer using the 1/2" tool of his choice to loosen the nuts on elevation rod
    5. Show the SSLM dropping and leveling off
    6. Show the 1/2" open wrench sweeping on the lower elev. nut in the direction that makes the SSLM drop completely (8 1/2-sweeps)
    7. Show the 1/2" open wrench sweeping on the lower elev. nut in the opposite direction, counting each 1/2-sweep as the SSLM peaks and then drops to the reading in Step 6.
    8. [During post-production, add in text overlay showing a count 1 ... 2 ... 3 ... etc with each 1/2-sweep ... 16 total]

  20. Tighten Elev. nuts and bolts
    1. Installer tightens the upper elev. nut with the 1/2" open wrench, adding an extra 1/4 turn to lock the nut
    2. Installer uses the 1/2" tool of his choice to tighten bolts on the elevation slots
  21. Push/Pull test
    1. Shooting from the front, show Installer pushing the back of the dish from the top, and from each side.
    2. Show the SSLM during that action (SSLM drops, then comes back.)
  22. Dressing for Initial Modem Lock (Exterior)
    1. Installer powers off the modem.
    2. Installer removes test cable from RX port on the TRIA
    3. Installer removes red-labeled cable from Sat RX on the SSLM
    4. Installer connects the red-labeled cable to the RX port on the TRIA
  23. Dress for Initial Modem Lock (Interior) - need this shot
    1. Remove red-labeled cable from the Attenuators
    2. Attach red-labled cable to the "From TRIA" port on the APA
    3. Attach test cable on the "To Modem" port of the APA to the Attenuators
    4. Green-labled cable remains attached to the TX port on the modem
    5. Plug in modem

    1. Off-camera: Modem is plugged in

    2. Installer removes the APA and the attenuators from the modem
    3. Installer attaches red-labeled cable to the RX port on the modem
  3. Modem Lock
    1. Installer powers up modem at the wall
